Abdias Ngateu, Born in 1990, lives and works in Douala, Cameroon. His interest in drawing and graphic art is precocious. Since he attended high school, he was trained at the age of 14 in graphic arts. Where it is formed to the portrait, the serigraphy, the engraving and the decoration. He quickly realized at 16 years that the plastic arts constitute the antidote of his mental and societal penalties. Then, like a good soldier thirsty for knowledge, he frequented the workshops of artists, multiplied artistic formations and residences; later enrolled in the Department of Sociology at the University of Douala and acquired an iron mind and a rare modesty to integrate comfortably into the artistic community of Cameroon. A good illustrator, his paintings are inspired by the warm landscape of his childhood and his urban life. From 2011, he presents his paintings in several international collective exhibitions. And today Obdias is exploring other media, including performance and installation. In 2015 it is crowned by the "discovery" prize of the Goethe Institute of Cameroon. And in 2016 he was selected to represent Cameroon at the first contemporary art fair in Mali (Segou'Art).
